The Motafoca Android Development team has come out with Gingerbread theme based on froyo 2.2 for Galaxy 5 smartphone.
Here is a youtube video showing how android 2.3 actually works out and as I have seen, it is MUCH faster than eclair 2.1 or even froyo 2.2 As reported by several users, the GPS connectivity has improved for this custom ROM, wifi performance has improved considerably and also battery backup. So what are you waiting for, upgrade to Gingerbread and feel the difference. It is better to first watch the video and later you can read the tutorial to actually install it on your phone.
